Taniya Nagpal completed her PhD from The University of Western Ontario under the supervision of Dr. Michelle Mottola and Dr. Harry Prapavessis. Her PhD work focused on measuring and increasing adherence to nutrition and exercise interventions during pregnancy. She is now a Mitacs-funded Post-Doctoral Fellow at The University of Ottawa supervised by Dr. Kristi Adamo, and working with The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC). Her current research is focused on taking a patient-centred approach to eliminate weight stigma during pregnancy in health care settings, and as a barrier to physical activity. With The SOGC, she works on developing knowledge translation resources for clinical practice guidelines, and supports the dissemination of research to all members which includies health professionals and researchers within obstetrics and gynaecology.
