Paula Duarte-Guterman

Dr. Paula Duarte-Guterman Paula is an early career researcher appointed to Brock University in 2021 in the Department of Psychology. She was recently named Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) in Behavioural Neuroscience. She is an expert in adult neurogenesis and plasticity with a specific focus on how sex, age, and life experiences affect brain plasticity and behaviour in rodent models. She is currently investigating sex differences in how exercise remodels the brain in adult mice with a focus on supporting cells/inflammation (microglia) and structures/plasticity (perineuronal nets).
