Kristine Godziuk

University of Alberta

Kristine is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Agricultural, Food and Nutritional Sciences at the University of Alberta, funded by an Alberta Innovates Fellowship in Health Innovation. Her research aims to improve health outcomes and health service delivery for individuals with a large body size (broadly defined as a BMI ≥35 kg/m2). She is currently leading a pilot randomized clinical trial [POMELO: Prevention Of MusclE Loss in Osteoarthritis], and examining the relevance of sarcopenic obesity in chronic disease management. Kristine has a PhD in rehabilitation science, and an extensive clinical background as an exercise physiologist in bariatric, athletic, and occupational health settings.
