Grant Handrigan completed a bachelor of kinesiology at Memorial University of Newfoundland, NL, Canada in 2005. He obtained an MSc degree in 2008 also from Memorial University with the supervision of Dr. Fabien Basset. In 2013 he received his PhD in kinesiology from Université Laval, QC, Canada, under the supervision of Dr. Philippe Corbeil, Dr. Martin Simoneau and Dr. Normand Teasdale. He is currently an associate professor at the Université de Moncton, NB, Canada, in the school of kinesiology and leisure studies.
